What is the section 323 of IPC ? According to section 323 of IPC, Whoever, voluntarily/willingly/deliberately causes hurt to any person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to 1 year, or with fine which may extend to 1000/- rupees, or with both. In order to understand section 323 of IPC clearly, it is necessary to know what is meant by the term hurt, voluntarily causing hurt and what is included and excluded in this section. According to the IPC, whoever causes bodily pain, disease or infirmity to any person is said to cause hurt.
